The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has made a triumphantic return to Nigeria after a two day visit to the United States of America, where he said he went to engage partners for the New Nigeria Project.
Hundreds of supporters turned out and lined the road to welcome Mr. Abubakar whose plane touched down at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja around 3:30pm.
He had left for the United States on Thursday on a visit that took both his opponents and supporters by surprise.
It was his first trip to America in 12 years.
