The Nigeria Immigration Service has announced that it will on March 4 unveil the new 64-page passport booklet with a 10-year validity.
But, as typical of Nigeria, the passport booklet, will cost a whooping N70,000.
This was confirmed in a statement on Monday by the NIS Public Relations Officer, Sunday James, adding that the other type of the Nigerian passport, with five-year validity period, will cost N35,000.
CHECKPOINTCHARLEY fails to understand why a passport should cost N70,000 in a country that cannot pay N30,000 as the minimum wage.
Th new Nigeria passport will cost at last two times more than what Germans, who earn on the average ten times than Nigerians, for example pay for a passport with ten years validity.
