
Six men have been arrested by the police in Edo State for trial by ordeal, indecent assault causing grevious bodily harm – violating a 25-year-old lady in the most barbaric fashion, stripping, torturing and inserting fresh red pepper into her private part on the flimsy allegation that she stole an i-phone said to be worth N440,000.
The incident reportedly happened at Ugbiyoko, a suburb of Benin City.
In the video, which went viral on the social media, the victim, Miss Favour Ada, was shown no mercy by her violators – all men – who kept tormenting her despite her anguish and unimaginable agony.
The men were seen torturing and forcing the lady to the ground after they had undressed her. They then forced her to spread her legs apart, and one of them crushed a fresh red pepper against her clitoris and labium majora before inserting it into her vagina, as she kept screaming.
It is understood that the video helped the police to track the primitive men, one of which is said to be a hotel proprietor – the owner of the allegedly stolen phone.
A source at the Edo State Police Command confirmed that six suspects were already in their custody.
The six male suspects already in custody are Otoghile Joel, Lucky Igbinovia, Edobor Osemwenjie, Kingsley Iyamu, Gregg Eweka and Friday Omorogbe.
It is gathered that the victim, who was seriously injured by the men’s bestiality, is currently recieving treatment at the intensive care unit of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital.
A statement by the Police on Thursday said the Inspector General of Police had ordered an investigation into the incident.
The statement partly read, “Operatives of the NPF have arrested six (6) male suspects involved in the shocking, barbaric and indecent assault meted out on a young Nigerian female as shown in a video that recently went viral.
“Following the dehumanizing incident, the IGP MA ADAMU, NPM, mni has ordered a comprehensive investigation.
“Consequently, Edo Police Command, led by its Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosun, swung into action, leading to the investigation breakthrough.
“Two other male suspects are still at large. Efforts are being intensified to arrest them and bring all involved to book.
“NPF condemns jungle justice in its entirety and warns of dire consequences for persons who resort to self help.”
