The senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Benue North West, Orker Jev, has kicked out incumbent Senator and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), George Akume out of the Nigerian Senate.
In the final collation of the Saturday’s elections results on Tuesday, the collation officer, Prof. Nicodemus Agbulu of the University of Agriculture, Makurdi announced that Jev polled 157,726 votes while Akume got 115,422 votes.
Akume had boasted that he will make sure that Mr. Buhari wins Benue. That did not happen as Atiku Abubakar of the PDP took the state.
Now to add salt to injury, Akume will not be returning to the Senate.
