The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has congratulated former President Olusegun Obasanjo on his 82nd birthday, extoling his contributions to Nigeria.
In a congratulatory message he posted on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, Atiku said “no living Nigerian has given as much to Nigeria in peacetime and in war as you have. May almighty God grant you many more years in good health and continued service to Nigeria and the world at large.”
He wished his former boss “A very happy 82nd birthday.”
Mr. Obasanjo had, to the chagrin of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), endorsed Atiku for president in the 2019 presidential election.
Atiku had served as Obasanjo’s deputy while the latter was president between 1999-2007.
