The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a man in Benue State with millions of naira, claiming to be the agent of the Benue State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Emmanuel Jimeh.

The EFCC announced this on its Facebook page, sharing a photo of the seizure.

The anti-graft agency said the suspect was arrested in Makurdi on Saturday.

The post read, “At the North Bank Area, Makurdi, a man was caught with large bags containing lots of money. While trying to arrest him, officers of the Commission were attacked and vehicles vandalised. Information gathered confirms that the money belongs to Emmanuel Jimeh, the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Benue state.”

A Spokesman for Jimeh, Mr. Joe Abuku, did not pick his call when contacted.
