The All Progressives Congress (APC) has defeated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in all 16 local government areas of Kwara state in the gubernatorial election, with incumbent governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of the APC declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Mr. Abdulrazaq scored 331,546 votes, double of his opponent’s votes, which stood at 114,754 votes after all 16 local government were collated by INEC.
Razak Atunwa, the PDP candidate backed by Senate President Bukola Saraki, lost in his own local government area, and that of the senate president.
