
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar on Thursday visited ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
This was disclosed in a statement on Thursday by Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo’s media aide.
He however did not give further details of the meeting.
Thursday’s meeting is the first time both statesmen will meet since the presidential elections.
Mr. Akinyemi further revealed that Seyi Makinde, governor elect of the state, also visited Obasanjo on the same day.
He said that Obasanjo urged the people of Oyo to cooperate with Makinde towards uniting them.
“You have a onerous task ahead in improving the status of the capital of the old Western Region and you have to work to unite them all,” Obasanjo was quoted as saying.
He added, “You need to shun corruption, be transparent and embark on developmental projects which would be a delight to the people of Oyo state.”
