
Four staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have been kidnapped during the governorship supplementary election by armed men in Bauchi State.
The identity of the four INEC staff are yet to be ascertained as of the time of this report.
However, the incident reportedly took place at Jamare Local Government Registration Area 02 with Polling Unit Code 010.
According to one INEC staff, who escaped, the gunmen came in seven Toyota Hilux vans.
He said the abducted staff were taken away with voting materials.
“Four of our staff in Jamare LGA Registration Area 02 with Polling Unit Code 010 have been abducted with voting materials. The place was invaded by heavily armed security operatives who came in seven Toyota Hilux Vans, and took the four INEC officials to Jamare LGA to perfect their plots,” he said.
There has also been reports of voting disruption in Kano and Benue in Saturday’s governorship re-run elections.
