On March 9, Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha made sure that Imo people were not taken into slavery in the 21st century by defeating Governor Rochas Okorocha’s son-in-law, Uche Nwosu in the Imo State governorship election.
Imolites, who saw Okorocha’s plan to hand over to his son-in-law as a slap in the face, voted massively for Ihedioha to shatter the governor’s dream of a family political dynasty in Imo and it also ensured that he (Okorocha) never got a third term, using Uche Nwosu as proxy.
Ihedioha’s election triumph brought a huge relief to the Imo people and the celebration seems not to be over.
On Sunday, Imolites in New Jersey, Unied States of America were joined by friends as they celebrated what they called Ihedioha’s sweet victory.
One of the hosts, Engr. Valentine Okorie told CHECKPOINTCHARLEY, “Nothing has made Imo people more happy politically since Sam Mbakwe like Ihedioha’s election victory.”
