INEC Presents Certificate Of Return To Ihedioha As Imo Governor-Elect

The Imo State Governor-elect, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and his deputy, Gerald Irona have been issued a Certificate of Return by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The presentation ceremony took place on Wednesday at INEC State headquarters  in Owerri.

INEC’s supervisory commissioner, representing Imo and Abia States, Okey Ibeanu presented the Certificates of Return to  Mr. Ihedioha and his deputy.

26 elected lawmakers also received their Certificates of Return, however the Member-elect for Ideato North state constituency, Authur Egwim, was omitted.

The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof Francis Ezeonu, apologized to Egwim for the omission.

Mr. Ihedioha later went to the State headquarters of the Peoples Democratic party, PDP, Owerri, where he addressed party faithful.

The former deputy speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives had been declared winner of the March 9, 2019 governorship election by INEC.
