
The Imo State Governor Elect, Emeka Ihedioha, has restated his commitment to a new Imo, where where there is Rule of Law and where Local Government system will function autonomously and “most importantly, the Trinity of Government which guarantees independence to both the judicial and the legislative arms of government will be maintained.
Mr. Ihedioha reassured on these on Sunday during a thanksgiving service organized by the Leadership of his support groups, held at The Cathedral Of Transfiguration Of Our Lord, CATOL Owerri.
He urged his support groups to remain close to God who made it possible for them to be celebrating today.
The former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives thanked the support groups for their commitment and resilient spirit during the campaign period which according to him contributed immensely to his Victory at the March 9th governorship election.
He also thanked the entire Church of God, noting that he is aware that both the Anglican Communion, Roman Catholic community, Presbyterian, Methodists, Pentecostal Churches and indeed the entire church of God supported and prayed for his emergence as the Governor of Imo State.
Earlier in the service, the Bishop of Owerri Diocese, Rt. Revd. Chukwuma Chinekezi Oparah, offered special prayers to the Governor Elect and his team, reassuring his Imolites that the incoming administration will be a government of the People.
The Bishop urged the Governor Elect to pay more attention to the masses, the pensioners, civil servants, teachers and the downtrodden in the society, promising that the church will continue to pray for the success of his administration.
