“Bad Loser” Okorocha Showed No Magnanimity Towards Me, Not Even A Handover Document – Ihedioha

Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, has revealed that his predecessor, Rochas Okorocha, was a “bad loser” who showed no magnanimity towards him as governor-elect, including failing to hand any document over to him.

Ihedioha’s Special Adviser on Media, Steve Osuji, disclosed this to the press on Friday, saying Okorocha, who failed in his bid to get his son-in-law to succeed him, left the Government House without any “documentary record”.

“The immediate past governor did not hand any documentary evidence, paper or record over to the new governor.

“Governor Emeka Ihedioha went to Government House for the first time today (Friday) and I can tell you that the place is in a bad shape. There is nothing to show that the former governor handed anything over to his successor,” he said.

When asked how many official vehicles Okorocha left for Ihedioha, Osuji said, “There is no record so I can’t tell you how many official vehicles the former governor left behind.”

This contradicts the claim by the immediate past Secretary to the State Government, Mark Uchendu, who had said Okorocha properly handed over to his successor, though he was unable to say how many official vehicles Okorocha handed over to Ihedioha.

Investigations by CHECKPOINTCHARLEY however showed that Mr. Uchendu’s claim does not represent the truth.

Close aides of Mr. Ihedioha confided in CHECKPOINTCHARLEY that former governor Okorocha “intentionally” worked against a smooth transition, including refusing to release funds.

One said, “He never even met with Ihedioha for once after he was declared governor-elect; neither did he take him round the Govt House before he was sworn in.

“Ohakim had only one term. Despite this when he was defeated, he showed grace and statesmanship, taking Okorocha round the govt house and did everything to facilitate smooth transition.

“I really dont know what Okorocha wants after two terms in office as governor?

“He is such a bad loser.

“Fine, he wanted Uche Nwosu, his son-in-law, to be governor but Imo people said no. Why is that difficult for a man who says he wants to be president to accept?”
