PHOTONEWS: Gov Ihedioha Mourns With Bereaved Family In Rare Show Of Love For His People

Imo State governor, Emeka Ihedioha on Tuesday, showed what leadership should be when he visited a family in Obowo Local Government Area that lost a son, Master Ikenna Ukachi to a trigger happy police officer.

It is understood that Ikenna was shot dead on Monday by a yet-to-be identified policeman.

Angered by the killing, youths reportedly burnt down the police station in the area, carting away of arms and ammunitions and granting freedom to detainees.

Mr. Ihedioha consoled the family, assuring the deceased family that the Government will stand by them at this trying period.

He prayed God to grant the soul of Ikenna eternal rest, promising that the killer cop will be brought to book.

The governor charged the Commissioner of police in the state to fish out the cop and ordered that all those who took the laws into their hands are apprehended.

He was accompanied on the visit by the Deputy Governor, Hon. (Engr) Gerald Irona, the Imo State CP, Ibrahim Ladodo, the Chairman Council of Tradition Rulers, Eze Samuel Agunwa Ohiri, the Special Adviser Security, Mr Raymond Nkemdirim, among other Government functionaries.

While the Chief of Staff, Chief Chris Okewulonu, alongside other leaders of the area, were on hand to receive the Governor.
