
The Nigeria Police have confirmed the kidnap of an Assistant Commissioner of Police, Musa Rambo by unknown persons.
Mr. Rambo, who works as a police area commander at the Suleja Area Command in Niger State, was said to be kidnapped in Kaduna, alongside his driver on their way to Jos on Saturday evening.
The spokesperson of the police in Kaduna, Yakubu Sabo, confirmed the abduction, saying a security police team along Barde – Jos at about 3:30 p.m. on Saturday reported that they found Rambo’s police identity card in an ash-colour Nissan Murano with Reg No. KRD 753 BT abandoned on the road.
“The vehicle was found abandoned around Kanock Bridge, a border area between Kaduna and Nasarawa States which occupant was suspected to have been kidnapped along Barde to Jos Road by Kanock Forest,” he said
Sabo further said that contact has been established with the ransom requesting kidnappers, but did not disclosed the amount demanded.
The police are doing everything possible to secure the release of the victim, he however added.
