“The Special One” Jose Mourinho may soon return to his beloved Premier League as several reports (via Calciomercato) are linking him to wobbling Arsenal.
The 56-year-old Portuguese, who was sacked last November by Manchester United, was seen at the club’s Europa League match against Vitoria SC on Thursday.
Arsenal haven’t had the best of starts to the Premier League this season as they are currently 5th in the table despite making a number of signings in the summer transfer window.
According to the Times, Unai Emery could be sacked if the North London club don’t make the Champions League next season.
Earlier this week, Mourinho was ruled out of the running to take over at struggling Bundesliga giant, Borussia Dortmund.
While at Chelsea, Mourinho had a bitter rivalry with then Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger. Nevertheless, Arsenal fans positively received the whisper of the Portuguese taking over at the Emirate.
One tweeted: “Mourinho was clearly at the Emirates for a reason. Why else would he waste his Thursday evening watching Europa League?
“He’s already working out what he can do to turn this team into winners, I love it, my manager.”
