The federal high court Lagos has convicted Orji Uzor Kalu, former governor of Abia state and chief whip of the senate of N7.1 billion fraud.
The court found Mr. Orji-Kalu and his co-defendants guilty of the entire 39 counts filed against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Justice Mohammed Idris therefore sentenced him to 12 years’ imprisonment.
The judge also ordered the winding up of Kalu’s company, Slok Nigeria Limited, charged as third defendant in the case.
