A Twitter user, Ibrahim Mansur has shared on social media a clip showing the moment former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki walked into his Abuja residence for the first time in four years.
Mr Dasuki was released on Christmas eve by the President Muhammadu Buhari government after spending four years in detention on charges of breach of trust and money laundering.
The government had refused to release Dasuki despite several court orders to that effect.
But lately the Buhari government had been under enormous pressure after agents of the Department of State Services (DSS) stormed a court in session to rearrest activist and journalist, Omoleye Sowore.
The US had threatened to reassess its relation with Nigeria due to what it called Human Rights abuses under Buhari’s watch.
On Tuesday, the Buhari government succumbed to pressure and released both Dasuki and Sowore.
