The Kwara State Government has demolished the ancestral home of the late Olusola Saraki’s at Ile Arugbo, Ilorin, a reliable source has authoritatively told CHECKPOINTCHARLEY.

The building was demolished around 4am on Thursday despite resistance by some women the demolition team met at the property.

Former senate president, Bukola Saraki had recently alerted the nation of alleged planned by the Kwara State government to erase his legacy and that of his late father, Olusola Saraki.

He accused Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of pursuing vendetta.

But the Kwara State government says the land was not properly acquired.

Governor AbdulRazaq had in December 2019 said he will revoke the property owing to alleged illegality in its acquisition.

According to him, the land was originally designated for the construction of a secretariat and parking lot of the civil service clinic, but was unlawfully allocated to a private company, Asa Investments Limited, without any record of payment to the state government.

However, Mr. Saraki says his late father lawfully acquired the land from the state government.
