The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra state and Enyinnaya Abaribe, senate minority leader, on Monday lead a protest to the supreme court over its absurd verdict on the Imo governorship election.

The march took off from the PDP’s Legacy House in Maitama, Abuja amid tight security.

Hundreds of protesters held placards with inscriptions, “Save Judiciary”, “Presidency and Judiciary Murder Democracy” and “We say no to Supreme Court judgement in Imo” etc.

Security operatives however cordoned off the road leading to the supreme court.

There were also heavy protests in Imo, Abia, Taraba and Ogun states on Sunday over the decision which has not gone down well with the Imo people, who say it was Emeka Ihedioha they voted for and not Hope Uzodinma.

The Apex court had on Tuesday sacked Ihedioha, PDP governorship candidate, and declared Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the last governorship election, as the duly elected governor of Imo state.
