The Police on Friday arraigned five suspects arrested over the failed robbery operation at a Firstbank branch in Mpape area of Abuja.
The suspects, Ehizo Larry, Princewill Obinna, Elijah David, Timothy Joe, and Ernest Ewin were arraigned before Justice Ajoke Adepojuof of high court in Wuse Zone 2.
They all pleaded not guilty to a five-count charge of armed robbery, attempted armed robbery and illegal possession of firearms.
In December 219 the accused persons had attempted unsuccessfully to rob the bank.
Four of them were arrested at the crime scene while one was shot dead by the police as he attempted to escape.
Elijah David had told the police in a statement that co-accused, Larry Ehizo, an employee of the bank, led them to rob the financial institution.
The judge fixed March 13 for trial and ordered that the suspects be remanded in prison custody
