
The Coronavirus has spread to Edo State, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced via its Twitter handle on Monday.
The NCDC said it is among five new cases, making now a total of 35 in the country.
It said the federal capital territory (FCT) and Lagos recorded two of the new cases each, while Edo recorded one.
According to the NCDC, the virus has spread to six states — FCT, with six cases; Lagos, 24 cases; Oyo, one case; Ogun, two cases; Ekiti, one case, and Edo, one case.
It added that out of the 35 confirmed cases, only 33 are active, two patients have recovered from the disease and discharged.
Two of those infected newly are returning travellers from the United Kingdom, the NCDC said.
