Lebanese Who Advertised Nigerian Woman For Sale Arrested

Wael Jerro, a Lebanese, who primitively advertised a Nigerian lady for sale on Facebook, has been arrested, Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, tweeted on Thursday.

Mrs Dabiri-Erewa said the suspect, who was arrested by the Lebanese government, would be prosecuted.

“The Lebanese Government just announced the arrest of Mr. Wael Jerro for onward prosecution against criminal sales of a human, a young Nigerian girl,” she tweeted.

Jerro had advertised the victim, Busari Peace, with her Nigerian passport on a Facebook page, ‘Buy and Sell in Lebanon.’

He put a price tag of $1,000 on the 30-year-old Ibadan, Oyo State, indigene.

The incident had elicited outrage on social media.
