Coronavirus

Nigeria has recorded its highest COVID-19 daily toll with 389 new cases and two were from Kogi state, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced in a tweet on Wednesday night.

It was the first time Kogi will record a case since Nigeria’s first index case on February 28, 2020. Although the NCDC has always said that the state is not allowing enough testing.

This now brings the total number of infections in the country to 8,733 as the disease has now spread to 35 states and the federal capital territory (FCT).

The number of fatalities increased from 249 to 254, while recoveries increased from 2,385 to 2,501, NCDC said.
