Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Surpass 9,000 With 387 New Infections

Nigeria has recorded 387 new cases of COVID-19 in 13 states and the federal capital territory (FCT), the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed in a tweet on Friday night.

It is the second highest daily toll ever in the country since the first index case.

Lagos also recorded its second highest daily toll ever on Friday with 254 new cases.

The latest figures brings the total number of infections in the country to 9,302, as the disease spreads to 35 states and the FCT.

The number of discharged persons increased from 2,592 to 2,697, while two deaths were recorded, increasing the figure of fatalities from 259 to 261, the NCDC said.
