
The Nigerian Police Force says the suspected killers of a 100-level student of the University of Benin, Uwaila Omosuwa have been arrested.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Ayoola Ajala announced this on Monday while receiving protesters at the police command.
Mr. Ajala assured that investigation has begun and “arrests have been made in connection with the murder”.
Some UNIBEN students and members of the public had protested at the headquarters of the state police command in Benin to demand justice for Uwaila.
Uwaila had gone to study in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Miracle Sanctuary Mega Parish, Edo Province 10, Ikpoba Hill area of Benin City on May 27, 2020, when she was raped and killed by her assailants.
