The Peoples Democratic Party has postponed its primary election in Edo State from June 19 and 20, to June 23, the National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan told the media on Thursday.
It is understood that the postponement is to accommodate the embattled governor, Godwin Obaseki, who is expected to join the PDP after dumping the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mr. Obaseki, on Wednesday, met with the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum, Aminu Tambuwal and the PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus.
The meeting was reportedly held at the Abuja residence of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesome Wike, in Asokoro.
A source said the issues discussed included the fate of Obaseki’s deputy and others who would join the PDP with him.
