The All Progressives Congress Caretaker Committee led, by Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, on Thursday visited Bola Tinubu, seen by many Nigerians as having lost his position and grip on the ruling party.
The committee, which was inaugurated last week following the dissolution of the Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee, is said to be on a reconciliation mission.
An insider told CHECKPOINTCHARLEY that they want to promote reconciliation within the APC, ahead of the upcoming governorship elections in Ondo and Edo States.
Others at the meeting are Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, his Osun State counterpart, Gboyega Oyetola.
Mr. Tinubu is harbouring a presidential ambition in 2023. But the once powerful APC leader was seen as humiliated when President Muhammadu Buhari allowed suspended chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole to fall. Mr. Oshiomhole is a staunch ally of Tinubu and would have worked to help him realize his presidential dream.
