The attorney-general of Ekiti State and some other cabinet members have tested positive for COVID-19, Health Commissioner, Dr Mojisola Yaya-Kolade, announced on Monday in Ado Ekiti during the state COVID-19 Task Force media briefing.
Yaya-Koladen however did not reveal the identities of those cabinet members, saying, “those who tested positive are at liberty to announce it on their own.”
But the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Olawale Fapohunda, had on Sunday night tweeted that he tested positive for the virus.
The Health commissioner said, “As you are aware, the Commissioner for Justice announced his status on twitter.
“I can tell you that there are other members of the cabinet that are also positive, but I must say that they are at liberty to disclose or keep to themselves for the obvious reasons.”
According to Yaya-Kolade, it was against the ethics of the medical profession to disclose the identity of COVID-19 patients.
Recall that governor Kayode Fayemi had also last week tested positive and went into isolation.
This prompted his wife, Bisi, members of the State Executive Council and aides to undergo COVID-19 tests.
