The National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (retd.), on Tuesday hinted that President Muhammadu Buhari may finally sack service chiefs, in order to restore the confidence of Nigerians in the security sector.
Talking to State House reporters on the outcome of the meeting of the National Security Council, presided over by the President, Monguno said Buhari again expressed his dissatisfaction over the worsening security situation in the country.
He said the president was therefore planning an overhaul of the nation’s security architecture.
The NSA added that the president again told the nation’s security chiefs that their best effort is not good enough.
Buhari noted that Nigerians have lost confidence in the security sector and he is determined to restore that confidence, Monguno said.
