
Justice Jude Okeke of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory has died, aged 64.
A close friend of his, who did not want his name in print, told CHECKPOINTCHARLEY that he died at the National Hospital in Abuja.
He said the deceased had complained of chest pain some days ago after which his condition worsened.
The spokesperson for the National Hospital, Dr Tayo Haastrup, also confirmed the passing of Justice Okeke on Tuesday.
Justice Okeke, had presided over the corruption case instituted against a retired judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Adeniyi Ademola, along with his wife, Olubolade, and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Joe Agi.
He had dismissed the charges against the defendants.
Justice Okeke, from Idemili North Local Government Area of Onitsha, Anambra State, was called to Bar in 1985 and he completed his National Youth Service the following year.
He was a practicing lawyer before he was appointed as a Judge in the FCT High Court in 2007.
