The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, a personal friend of President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria has condemned the massacre of protesting youths in Lekki, Lagos State and other parts of the country.
Welby made his position known in a message he posted on his Twiter handle, @JustinWelby.
The world leader of the Anglican Church said he had earlier advised Buhari to ensure that lives are protected.
He tweeted, “I condemn in the strongest terms the reported deliberate shooting of unarmed protesters in #Lagos and other parts of #Nigeria.
