Hoodlums on Thursday broke into the National Correctional Service Centre in Okitipupa, Ondo State, releasing about 58 inmates.
A vehicle was reportedly burnt and several items were destroyed on the premises of the prison during the jail break.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Command of NCS, Ogundare Babatunde, has confirmed the incident.
