
The Delta State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a carpenter, who, alongside two others, lured and abducted a 12-year-old daughter of his neigbour, Blessing Imeh, stabbed and slit her throat and then dumped her in a cesspit in Abraka, in the Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.
Blessing had gone missing on January 1, 2021, while running an errand for her parents.
She was eventaully found in the cesspit at the back of their house four days later.
Her cry inside the cesspit reportedly attracted another child, who raised the alarm.
After she was rescued, Blessing said that one of their neighbours identified as General, was among the three men that abducted her.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Onome Onovwakpoyeya, said General had been arrested, adding that the victim had been taken to a hospital.
