The private residence of Niger State Deputy Governor on Brighter Road in Minna have been destroyed by irate traders and youths.

The incident reportedly happened around 11.00am on Wednesday.

It is understood that the youths and the traders, whose shops were demolished by the Urban Development Board, destroyed the house of the deputy governor in retaliation.

The traders had alleged that they were not given any quit notice before caterpillars demolished their shops, without allowing them to pack their goods and valuables.

The aggrieved traders were said to have demanded the demolition of the house of the deputy governor since it is the same area, as their demolished shops.
