Armed bandits have reportedly killed one person and abducted 21 others, mostly women and children, in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State in North-Central Nigeria.
Residents say the bandits arrived in Batsari town around 10:20 pm on Tuesday and started shooting sporadically before taking the 21 persons away.
According to eye witnesses, the bandits after rustling dozens of cattle, properties, and mobile phones worth millions of naira also killed a refugee of Bakon Zabuwa village, identified as Alhaji Hassan.
The police authorities in Katsina State are yet to confirm the incident.
