Troops of the Nigerian military have reportedly shot dead a Germany-based Nigeria, Mr. Oguchi Unachukwu in Owerri, Imo State on Tuesday.
Unachukwu was said to have been shot in the head by a Nigerian soldier at a military checkpoint at Sam Mbakwe Airport, while going to catch a flight on his way back to Germany.
It is understood that the deceased lived in Hamburg, in Northern Germany.
This was revealed in a tweet posted with the pictures of the victim by one Somto Okonkwo II (@General_Somto).
There have been allegations of extra-judicial killings and indiscriminate arrests by troops, who were sent to South-East to fight the menace of unknown gunmen and to repress the agitation for secession by proscribed Biafran group, Indigenous People of Biafra.
