Two students of the Federal University, Lafia have been abducted by armed bandits who invaded the school premises Saturday night.
The bandits reportedly invaded Mararaba community which hosts the university at around 7 pm on Saturday, shooting sporadically into the air while they whisked the students away, without any intervention from security operatives in the area.
The abducted students were taken to an unknown destination.
It is gathered that the bandits has contacted the parents of the abducted students and demanding the sum of N25 million as ransom.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident, saying the anti-kidnapping unit of the command had been dispatched to commence a thorough search for the victims.
