
The Nigeria Railway Corporation says it has stopped services on the Abuja-Kaduna route following alleged bomb attack by bandits.
In a statement on Thursday, the management of the corporation said the explosives damaged the rail tracks somewhere between Dutse and Rijana areas of Kaduna.
A former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Senator Shehu Sani, had narrated how he escaped an accident as a result of the bombing.
Sani, posted on his verified Twitter handle that bandits attacked a train on the route on Wednesday.
He said “Yesterday (Wednesday) terrorists attacked the Kaduna-Abuja railway with an explosive and opened fire on the train, targeting the engine driver and the tank.
“This (Thursday) morning, I was onboard when our train ran over another explosive damaged rail.”
