Katsina State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Dr Rabe Nasir, has been assassinated by gunmen.
Katsina Police Commissioner, Sanusi Buba, confirmed the incident on Thursday.
According to residents Nasir was killed on Wednesday night in his house located at Fatima Shema Quarters, Katsina.
Governor Aminu Masari and other top officials visited the residenceThursday evening on fact-finding visit.
Nasir, 61, a former House of Representatives member, was also a former employee of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
He was also special adviser handling the same portfolio during Masari’s first tenure.
CHECKPOINTCHARLEY gathered that a suspect is already in custody in connection with the incident.
