The Catholic Priest, Rev. Father Odia, who was abducted by gunmen early hour of Sunday in Edo State while preparing for mass, has been reportedly killed.
The priest was kidnapped in Ikabigbo community of Etsako West Local Government Area of the state.
Fellow Catholic Priest, Fr Kelvin Ugwu confirmed the killing in a post on his verified Facebook page on Sunday night.
He wrote, “Sad News: The priest of Auchi diocese, Rev Fr Christopher Osia, that was kidnapped this morning the 26th of June 2022 on his way to mass has been killed”.
Meanwhile, brave youths who chased his abductors were able to apprehend one of the suspected kidnappers who in the cause of the confrontations injured several persons including a woman said to have been hit by a stray bullet but survived it.
