Former Secretary to the Enugu State Government, Dr. Dan Shere has been freed by his abductors.
The medical doctor was on Thursday kidnapped together with several other commuters along Enugu-Ugwuogo Nike-Nsukka Road in Enugu State.
The kidnappers had earlier abducted several students of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, UNN.
He was released on Saturday, alongside other hostages, leading to jubilation in Nsukka town.
It is still unclear how much was paid to secure his freedom as at the time of filing this report.
