Gunmen Kidnap Four Targets In Abuja After Operating For Over An Hour With No Response From Security Forces

Gunmen in the early hours of Saturday invaded the Mashafa area of Mpape in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Nigeria’s seat of power and abducted four targets in an operation that reportedly lasted over an hour, without any form of response from the security forces.

A resident who simply identified himself as Zack told the Punch that the armed men came for specific residents, saying the gunmen separately broke into the houses of the victims and whisked them away.

Zack said, “They came early in the morning around 1:am with sophisticated weapons. The sound of their guns was very loud, and it lasted about an hour. If you look at the kind of people they kidnapped, it showed they had their targets, and they one-by-one forced their way into their houses to pick them up. We have an Executive Officer of a logistics company, another, a manager of a big bakery, the other one is a Manger of an Oil dump company, and the last one works with a construction company.”

The FCT police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh had yet to comment on the incident as at the time of filing this report.
