
The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has commenced its planned protest in Abuja, Lagos, Kano, among other states, amid heavy security presence (intimidation).
In Abuja, the National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero and other union leaders have been seen assembling at the Unity Fountain for a “peaceful protest”.
Also National President of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, Muhammed Ibrahim, representatives of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, National Union of Road Transport Workers among others are likewise at the location to protest the hike in fuel prices and failure of the President Bola Tinubu administration to reverse some of the policies which the NLC tagged “unfriendly” and “anti-poor.”
