Protesters Pull Down National Assembly Gate

Protesters have pulled down the gate of the National Assembly in Abuja as angry workers stormed the complex on Wednesday to express their displeasure over the hike in fuel price and lack of palliatives to cushion the adverse effects the removal of fuel subsidy by the government of Bola Tinubu has triggered.

The gate was pulled down after the protesters, led by the leaders of the Organised Labour, Joe Ajaero of the Nigeria Labour Congress and Festus Osifo of the Trade Union Congress, asked security operatives stationed at the legislative building to open the gates for them, and they refused.

The protesters later stormed the complex to register their anger over the state of things in the country.
