Again, Emefiele’s Arraignment Over Alleged N.6.9bn Fraud Stalled

The expected arraignment of the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Godwin Emefiele, over alleged N6.9bn procurement fraud, was again stalled on Wednesday following the absence of the second defendant in the case, Sa’adatu Yaro.

Recall that the case was first stalled on August 17, also because of the absence of the second defendant.

She was said to have taken ill and could not come to court.

Based on that, the president judge, Justice Hamza Muazu, adjourned the case till August 23 (today) for the arraignment of the defendants.

But the matter was not listed on the case list of the Court.

No explanation was, however, given to journalists on why it was not listed.

It was however observed that lawyers for both parties were absent in court.
