Nigeria’s first indigenous chartered accountant, Akintola Williams has reportedly died.
A family source, who does not want to be mentioned, said Williams died in his sleep at his house in Lagos, on Monday (today).
He was aged 104.
Born in 1919, the renowned accountant studied accounting at the University of London and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1947.
He returned to Nigeria and later set up his accounting firm, Akintola Williams & Co., now Deloitte & Touche, in 1952.
