The records released by the Chicago State University to Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party—PDP on Monday afternoon, following an order of a US court, shows that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may have presented a forged certificate from Chicago State University—CSU, to the Independent National Electoral Commission—INEC.
It therefore means that the certificate Tinubu is currently parading was not issued by Chicago State University—CSU.
The academic records of the President were released in compliance with the ruling of U.S Judge Nancy Maldonado, after the Tinubu legal team failed to quash the order in last-ditch appeal moves.
In the documents seen by CHECKPOINTCHARLEY, noteworthy is that the academic record from SouthWest College he used in gaining admission into Chicago State University belongs to a woman.
Tinubu’s sex is entered as F (female) on the Southwest transcript.

Recall that one of the reasons adduced by the Tinubu legal team during an emergency proceedings before Judge Maldonado was that “Severe and irreparable harm will be done to Bola Tinubu if the records are released,”
However the judge was not persuaded by their argument.
“The Court overrules President Tinubu’s objections to Magistrate Judge Gilbert’s recommended ruling, and therefore adopts the ruling in full. Mr Abubakar’s application is therefore granted,” the judge ruled. ‘In light of the pending Supreme Court of Nigeria deadline, represented to the court as October 5, 2023, and based on CSU’s representations that it is ready to comply with the discovery requests and produce a witness, the court sets an expedited schedule for completion of discovery.”
Another discrepancy is that certificate the President allegedly presented to Independent National Election Commission, INEC, to run for the 2023 Presidential elections is different from what CSU issued on the same year Tinubu reportedly graduated from the University.

It is evidently clear that there is a difference between the two certificates above – from the signatories to the logo. Even the arrangement and fonts of the two documents are worlds apart.
Section 137 (1)(j) of the Nigerian Constitution (amended in 2010) specifically stated that no one would be legitimately elected president of Nigeria if the person “has presented a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission.”
Meanwhile CSU will make its officials available for deposition to authenticate the documents tomorrow, as ordered by the court.
