Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party on Thursday paid tribute to late Human Rights activist Chief Gani Fawehimi, who he said inspired the struggle to unveil President Bola Tinubu’s alleged certificate forgery, stressing that “no matter how fast a lie travels, truth will overtake it.
Atiku stated this during a world press conference in Abuja after the Chicago State University categorically told an Illinois court on Tuesday that the certificate Tinubu submitted to INEC was not issued by the school.
He said Nigeria’s reputation is at stake with the cobweb around the Chicago State University’s certificate submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission by President Bola Tinubu.
Atiku urged the relevant stakeholders to uphold the tenets of democracy by establishing the truth about the certificate submitted to the electoral umpire by the President.
“The reputation of our country is at stake and that affects Nigerians everywhere and wherever they may be,” Atiku said.
Recall that the Chicago State University had on Monday released the academic records of the President and the CSU Registrar, Carl Westberg, also carried out a deposition of the documents on Tuesday, in compliance with a court order.
