Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele, has been arrested and detained by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) immediately after he was released by Department of State Services (DSS).
Emefiele, who had been in DSS custody since June 9, was reportedly picked up immediately by the anti-corruption agency Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Recall that the DSS, Nigeria’s secret police had arrested Emefiele on the same day President Bola Tinubu, suspended him from office with immediate effect.
He had been accused of corruption and abuse of office.
